Lulu’s dream to become a Southern Africa region ‘s musical dinosaur that can rival the dominance of West Africa is taking a right step to fruition as he is set to launch Ndakudziwa, his fourth album, in three major cities of South Africa.

In an interview on Tuesday, the multi-talented artist said he decided to launch the album in South Africa because ‘there is great hype of the album there’.

“While leaving for Ireland months ago, I passed by South Africa and left the album with a couple of DJs there. When I came back, I got numerous e-mails and calls from the DJs and other people through Facebook.

“What they are saying is that they have fallen in love with my music, especially the song Mponyere which they say carries a tune of South Africa’s Soul Brothers,” said Lulu who added that he barely knows Soul Brothers.

“These DJs then asked if I could perform in South Africa so that people there have the feel of my stage work and also to get up-close and personal with me,” he said.

Set to leave the country at the end of this month, Lulu who will perform alongside Lucius Banda in Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg, said his DVD is almost done.

“We will do the last shootings in South Africa,” he said.

Lulu further said he will launch his album in the country at Wakawaka Hotel in Lilongwe on 31st December.
